Early Years Yoga

At CK Yoga we engage early years children with movement, music and sensory activities incorporating poses and games and providing a variety of stimulating and calming movements alongside mindfulness and relaxation. At this age, we offer playful accessible and fun yoga with the helping hand of our friend Meddy Teddy (our lovable yoga bear).
Children will be developing physical strength and flexibility as well as fine and gross motor skills, body awareness, communication skills, self confidence and tools to alleviate their worries and promote restful breathing.
Classes follow the early years curriculum with lesson plans such as:
Everyday Living: People who help us
Fantasy and Adventure: Castles and Dragons
Science and Investigation: Pond life
Places: The Jungle
Festivals and Celebrations: Diwali
Weather and Seasons: Snow Day
Within these topics we include wellbeing themes such as: Friendship and community, Communication, Balance, Kindness, Compassion, Gratitude, and Strength.
Aligned to curriculum
Classes are designed to align with all key learning goals of the early years curriculum as shown below

Customer resources
When we teach in preschools and nurseries, we provide a weekly resource for parents/carers showing what we have done in class, the pose of the week and offering further activities and mindful practises to try out at home.

We also produce quarterly newsletters for our early years customers that can be shared with parents and carers.
We use the lovable Meddy Teddy yoga bear to join us for our yoga adventures helping to demonstrate yoga poses and to put children at ease - they very soon fall in love with Meddy Teddy.
